After a disappointing experience with a salon brand boasting an anti-frizz formulation “free” of a lot of “no nos,” I was anxious to test Organix Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy, a new variation from the popular mass market naturals company said to tame even the most unruly types of hair, according to the company. Past use of Organix SKUs have left my tresses (considered in the “normal” range with the need for smoothing) in decent condition, and fragrance selections such as Pomegranate Green Tea and the Coconut Milk are pleasing to the senses–another plus for the company. Made with the same delectable scent as Coconut Milk, Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy features a blend of “antioxidant rich” organic cocoa nut oil along with keratin proteins to strengthen and soften the hair. Organic avocado oils and cocoa butter smooth the cuticle for straight, strong tresses, adding a brilliant glow and luminescent shine. Happi tried the Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy Shampoo ($7.99) and Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy Conditioner ($7.99) and was pleased with the results, without even testing the Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy Flat Iron Spray ($7.99) and Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy Anti-Breakage Serum ($7.99). The first impression of the shampoo was the feel – this product has some weight to it. It applies smooth and foams well. The tan hue matches the neutral packaging, and the scent mimics suntan lotion without overpowering. The conditioner followed the shampoo well with similar attributes, but is a little thicker and therefore sometimes tricky to extract from the bottle. But besides being pleasant products to use by way of scent and feel, the results are impressive. By using the shampoo and conditioner in just one shower, my shoulder-length hair was smoother and felt almost lighter—without any frizz or flyaways. Just think what the whole system can do!
